Solo exhibition: "Rule breaking “ Reflecting pasts - imagining futures, Regina Heinz at the Town Museum Siegburg – July 8 to August 27, 2023
Regina Heinz is known internationally for her abstract ceramic sculptures and large-scale architectural wall installations that are composed using a modular combination of three-dimensional undulating “tiles”. On show at the airy and light contemporary exhibition space at the town museum Siegburg from 8th of July to 27th of August 2023 together with works by London based South Korean ceramicist Mimi Joung, are two site-specific large-scale wall installations as well as a series of one-off wall pieces, hand painted with abstract geometric designs.
Inspired by the river Sieg, the namesake of the town, the two large- scale elongated wall installations, Flow I, 8x1 m and Flow II, 5x1 m, refer to the exhibition space, taking into account light reflection and architectural setting, as well as referring to Siegburg’s rich ceramic past.
